Title A name given to the resource Efectos de una intervención psicológica en los niveles de glucosa en pacientes con diabetes tipo 2 Abstract A summary of the resource. La diabetes es un problema prioritario para los sistemas de salud del país. Para su control resulta fundamental una adecuada adherencia a la dieta prescrita. La psicología de la salud ha conseguido algunos cambios aunque no los suficientes por lo que se debe seguir trabajando para poder aportar soluciones que ayuden a resolver esta problemática. Por eso a partir del Modelo Psicológico de la Salud Biológica (Ribes, 1990) se diseñó un programa de intervención para mejorar la adherencia a la dieta en pacientes con diabetes mellitus tipo 2. En este trabajo, se contó con un diseño pretest-postest, donde se evaluó el impacto de dicho programa en el nivel de glucosa en la sangre de 95 participantes de varios centros de salud. En la primera fase, empleando glucómetros se tomaron medidas de los niveles de glucosa en sangre. La segunda fase fue de intervención y en ella se aplicó el programa diseñado. En el pos-test se volvió a tomar esta medida. Los resultados indican diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre el pre y el pos-test que indican que los participantes lograron disminuir estos niveles quedando bajo control de acuerdo a la Norma Oficial Mexicana. Los hallazgos se discuten a la luz de lo encontrado por otros autores. Diversos estudios establecen que las creencias que posee el individuo obeso pueden ser determinantes en el éxito o no de cualquier tratamiento. Sin embargo, es escasa la información  sobre este tema, por lo que se planteó la siguiente interrogante: ¿cuáles son las creencias asociadas a la escogencia del tratamiento, alimentación, actividad física y apariencia física de pacientes obesos candidatos a cirugía bariátrica en comparación con las creencias de pacientes que deciden no operarse? En el estudio participaron 20 personas de sexo femenino, diagnosticadas con obesidad. Como parte de los resultados, se pudieron identificar varias creencias asociadas a la concepción de la obesidad, sus causas y consecuencias, la percepción de los tratamientos, entre otros temas. Estas creencias se clasificaron, para finalmente establecer diferencias y semejanzas entre los grupos. Se encontraron similitudes relacionadas con las creencias acerca de la concepción de la obesidad, los tratamientos y el por qué acudir a los mismos. Con respecto a las diferencias, el grupo que se somete a otros tratamientos, piensa que la obesidad puede ser solucionada mediante dietas y ejercicios, al contrario, el grupo que se someterá a cirugía bariátrica, observa este procedimiento como la única solución. Es un estudio descriptivo de corte transversal en el que participaron 60 estudiantes de segundo y tercer año de bachillerato en la Unidad Educativa Las Pencas de la ciudad de Cuenca, Ecuador. La presente investigación tuvo por objetivo determinar las creencias y actitudes predominantes de la adolescencia ante la violencia escolar. Para la recogida de datos se utilizó el cuestionario CAHV-25 (Ruiz J. A., 2015). Los resultados muestran que los adolescentes poseen creencias de que las situaciones conflictivas deben ser resueltas mediante el uso de la fuerza, aspecto que se normaliza entre ellos y que los hace mantener una actitud de “violencia justa o justificada”. También consideran a la violencia como un método para burlarse de los compañeros y la utilización de ella como forma de diversión, destacando con una mayor representatividad el sexo masculino para quien la violencia constituye un medio para mejorar la autoestima. Se obtiene como conclusión que el factor de creencia actitudinal predominante en los estudiantes del colegio es la violencia percibida como legítima, la cual se basa en la relación a través de golpes e insultos. La violencia es considerada necesaria para la defensa personal.
